Date and Place

The third edition of the International Workshop on Air Fluorescence Measurements will take place at the centre "Les cimes du Léman" in Habère-Poche, Haute-Savoie, France,

from February 2 to 5, 2005.

Habère-Poche is a small, quiet ski resort in the Chablais in the Alps, located between Lake Geneva and Mont-Blanc.

During the winter time snow can be expected (alt. 1000 m). Cross-country skiing and alpine skiing can be practiced in the resort.

Habère-Poche is close to Geneva (Switzerland). You can easily reach the place by plane, landing at Geneva  International airport, by train, in Geneva or in Annemasse (France) or by car. Geneva is at a crossroad of several motorways from different European countries.

The participants are expected to arrive on Wednesday Feb. 2, 2005 in the afternoon.
The registration will open at 14:00. The first session is expected to start on Wednesday at about 17:00. The Workshop will last on Saturday Feb. 5 at 11:30. A lunch will be served before leaving.

Topics and programmes

The main goal of the workshop is to make an updated review of the precision measurements of the Air Fluorescence Light Yield in the context of the High Energy Cosmics Ray induced Air Showers.

This third Workshop, follows the two previous successful editions:

• "First International Workshop on Air Fluorescence"  held in Salt Lake City in October 2002 (site)

• “Air light 03 International Workshop” held in Bad Lenbenzell in December 2003 (site)

The Workshop is organized by the Laboratoire d'Annecy de Physique des Particules (LAPP) and the University of Savoie and the Groupe de Recherche des Phénomènes Cosmiques de Haute Énergie (GdR-PCHE).

Accommodation and Registration (Fee)

During the workshop participants are expected to stay at the centre "Les cimes du Léman" which comprises 54 (single and/or double) bedrooms. The centre is well equipped for conferences: a large conference room will be used for the plenary session. A computer room with internet connections will be available.

The registration fee includes accommodation: hotel, breakfast, lunch and dinner, the banquet and the coffee breaks, from Wednesday afternoon to Saturday morning.

The total fee is 270 €.

Payment may be made in cash (euros) or by credit card (Visa, Master Cards or Euro Cards). French people can pay via credit transfer.

Social programme

The social programme includes a welcome "Cocktail - Fondue" on Wednesday evening and a banquet dinner on Friday evening. Depending on the weather conditions some time will be dedicated to outdoor activities.
