The ninth annual Gravitational Wave Data Analysis Workshop (GWDAW-9) will take place in the immediate vicinity of Annecy, France from December 15-18 2004.

DATES / TIMES

The workshop sessions will last three-and-one-half days, beginning at 09:30 on Wednesday December 15th, and ending at 12:30 on Saturday December 18th. Registration will be open from 08:00 on Wednesday December 15th.

WORKSHOP VENUE

The workshop will take place at the Fondation Merieux, Les Pensieres
conference center, 55 route d'Annecy in Veyrier du Lac, which is a few
kilometers distant from downtown Annecy.

Lunch will be served at the conference center on Wednesday, Thursday and
Friday.

EVENTS

There will be a dinner on the evening of Friday December 17th, at 19:30 at
the hotel l'Imperial Palace by the lake in Annecy.
A wine and cheese will be served at the workshop venue during the poster
viewing session on the late afternoon of Thursday, December 16th.

TRAVEL

Coaches will take participants who do not have a car at their disposal to the conference center in the morning, and back in the evening. There will be two coaches from the "Saba" company, displaying GWDAW signs.

On the morning of Wednesday, coach #1 will pick up participants staying at the Holiday Inn or the Comfort Hotel La Mandallaz at 08:00, in the street "avenue du Thiou" on the side of the Holiday Inn (which sits at the corner of the avenue du Rhone and the avenue du Thiou). Coach #1 will then join coach #2 at the coach station located on the South exit of the railway station (close to the taxi station) to pick up participants staying at the Novotel Atria or the Nouvel Hotel. Both coaches will then leave the
station at 08:05. On the mornings of Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the same plan will apply, but coach #1 will leave the Holiday Inn at 08:20, and coaches #1 and #2 will leave the station at 08:25. In the evening, coaches will leave the conference site at the end of the sessions and both coaches will stop at the station and at the Holiday Inn.

Coaches will also take participants to the hotel l'Imperial Palace for the dinner on Friday, and back to the hotels after the dinner.

WEATHER

December in Annecy is usually mildly cold, and can be rainy. See http://meteo.chamonix.com/MetPreE.php3 for a current forecast of the weather in Chamonix (1000 m), which is usually similar to the weather in Annecy (500 m), though a few degrees colder.

INTERNET

Internet connections (wired ethernet and wireless 802.11b) will be
available at the conference site. There will be NO public machines
available; if you need a computer or internet access during the workshop,
please bring a laptop with you.

Proceedings will be published by Classical and Quantum Gravity. Talks and poster contributions have an equal access to the proceedings. Please note that while presenters are encouraged to contribute to the proceedings, they are not obligated to do so.

The registration rate for participants who have chosen to pay on site is 250 euros. The registration fee includes lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the workshop dinner on Friday evening, and a copy of the proceedings.
